Hello-Hello, welcome to a Wednesday here at the Prepatorium, where it is a little nippy for this time of year. Is it the same in your corner of the globe? Certainly nothing to whine about, but it has been rather odd.

It looks like our friends to the south will be having some of the same cool temps soon, although I imagine they will welcome it this time of year.

On a related note…. here is a headline from Tuesday’s NY Post.

From the story accompanying that headline:

They’re the bane of the fashion conscious and now Crocs, the shoe company known for its colorful clogs, is tripping over itself on Wall Street.

Back to the story:

Once a fast-growing business, Crocs is finding it hard to keep up as colder than normal weather and decreased consumer interest continues to bring sales down.

My guess is that it’s more waning interest from shoppers than cool temps.

We move on to an event with sunshine and warm temps, last weekend’s polo matches in Watermill. From a Women’s Wear Daily story:

The perfume of several hundred Yves Piaget hybrid tea roses lay heavily on the breeze that wafted across the expansive rolling green of the Equuleus Polo Club in Watermill, N.Y., on Sunday…

Mr. Figueras captains the Black Watch Polo team sponsored by Ralph Lauren.   He also continues to model for that brand, as well as many others.

The event is a fundraiser for the Robin Hood Foundation. More from Bloomberg:

Tickets, at more than $1,000 apiece, included photographs with Figueras and signed polo balls. The 350 attendees and corporate support brought the event’s gross to $600,000; about $500,000 will go to Robin Hood,

Those on hand included Kelly Klein, Gabby Karan de Felice and Donna Karan.

Mr. Figueras was playing for the first time since May, he has been sidelined with a broken pelvis, an injury that occurred when his horse fell on him. Below we see the legendary player at the Veuve Clicqot Polo Classic earlier this summer on Liberty Island. (You can just about see the tops of his crutches.) His son, Hilario Figueras also played for Team Black Watch, scoring three goals for the winning team.

From a New York Times T Magazine story:

On Sept. 15, Philip Lim’s first collection for Target will hit stores — five days after his 3.1 Philip Lim runway show in New York and five years after the retailer initially approached him.

“This is really personal, because growing up, I was a Target customer,” Lim said. “My parents were always taking me to Target for back-to-school shopping, and I would find things, but they were not quite right. This was my chance to go back and relive this and do it right.” The line of more than 100 basics, which range in price from $20 to $300, includes everything from soft intimates and leather jackets to vinyl handbags and solid shoes.

One final collage of styles.

This one isn’t terribly appealing to yours truly, but you can decide if it works for you by popping over to Refinery 29 to see the entire lookbook. Or visit Racked’s post, they have prices posted with most of the looks.

With that, goodbye until next time!
