Electricity & Phone & Heat All At The Same Time – Oh My!

Hello-Hello, and welcome to a new week. We’re positively giddy here at The Prepatorium, all of our utilities are working.  At the same time.

When chatting with you last Monday, we had tree damage and debris to clean up from the storm. We were immensely grateful we hadn’t lost power and planned to be back with a fresh post on Wednesday. That didn’t happen because we lost all power on Tuesday, 48 hours after the storm and it was out for a good long time. (Silly Princess, thinking we had dodged that bullet.) We’ll spare you the tedious details, merely saying we are delighted (very) to have things working again. We are also appreciative of our fabulous customers who were patient when calling the office *and* while tolerating the not-exactly-stellar cell phone signal when we returned calls.

Because we are still playing catch-up today we are quite brief, sharing just a few tidbits. We begin with a ‘heads-up’ for Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer fans.

The decidedly low-tech special is on CBS tomorrow night: Tuesday, November 25th, at 8pm ET. Does that seem early in the season to you? It does to me. If I recall correctly, it usually airs the first week of December. However, this year there is a much shorter time period between Thanksgiving and Christmas, that may have impacted programming. (Thanksgiving and Christmas are much closer together this year because of where Thanksgiving falls on the calendar, there are something like 6 or 7 fewer days between those two holidays than there were last year.)

At any rate, don’t miss your chance  to see Rudolph, Herbie, the Abominable Snowman, Yukon Cornelius, Santa and Mrs. Claus and everyone else, set those DVRs!  See more about Rudolph at the CBS site.

Our other item involves a rather unusual Louis Vuitton trunk.  When thinking of trunks from the company, I generally envision something like this, only much larger.

That is a photo from Moscow’s Red Square, taken by tour guide Olga Zhdan and shared in a blog post. It turns out the chest is part of an upcoming Vogue Russia exhibition. A look at construction via that same blog.

Louis Vuitton shared an image on Linked In, it shows the massive trunk at night.

How big is it? Well, big enough that people can go inside to view an exhibition dedicated to the brand.  Officially titled “L’Ame du Voyage,” or The Soul of Travel, the exhibit opens Dec. 2 and runs through mid-January.

Proceeds from the exhibition will go to model Natalia Vodianova’s Naked Heart Foundation. Below, Ms. Vodianova in November holding her Harper’s Bazaar Philanthropist of the Year award.
